Edit a user

This dialog lets you update a user profile (photo, first name, last name, title, phone, language, theme) and, depending on context, archive another account, leave the workspace, or delete your own account.

Edit user dialog

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in to Sequentia.
  • To open the dialog from My Account: access the My Account page (user menu → My Account).
  • To edit profile fields (including your own): either you are editing your own card, or you have permission to edit a user. Without that permission, another user’s fields are read-only.
  • To archive another user: you need permission to remove a user (button label: Archive User). The button does not appear on your own card.
  • Delete Account and Leave Workspace are available only when you edit your own profile (Advanced options section).

Open the dialog

  1. Open the user menu (avatar / account).
  2. Click My Account.
  3. On the profile card, click the pencil icon, or Add phone if no number is set.
  4. The Edit [display name] dialog opens.

Advanced options (your own account)

The Advanced options accordion shows, only on your card:

ActionEffect
Delete AccountAsks for confirmation, then deletes the account. On success: confirmation message, dialog closes, then sign-out.
Leave WorkspaceAsks for confirmation, then removes you from the current workspace (see below).

Delete Account

Confirmation alert:

  • Title: Confirmation
  • Message: Are you sure you want to delete [name]'s account?
  • Buttons: Cancel / Delete

On failure, an error message is shown and the dialog stays open.

Delete Account

Leave Workspace

Confirmation alert:

  • Title: Leave [workspace name]
  • Message: Leaving this workspace will remove all your access and permissions to it.
  • Buttons: Cancel / Confirm

Then:

  • If you are not the owner: you leave the workspace; the dialog closes.
  • If you are the owner: another dialog asks you to select the next workspace owner. If you are the only member, a message says to add another member first. After a successful transfer, you leave the workspace.

Leave Workspace

warning

Leaving removes your access to this workspace. If you are the only member, leaving is blocked until another member can take ownership.

Archive another user

The Archive User button (footer, red text) appears if:

  • you have permission to remove a user, and
  • the displayed card is not yourself.

Confirmation alert:

  • Title: Confirmation
  • Message: Are you sure you want to archive [name]'s account?
  • Buttons: Cancel / Archive

After confirmation: loading indicator, the account is marked archived, the dialog closes.

Archive User

note

In the current app, the only identified entry point is My Account (your own profile). Archive and editing another profile are supported in the dialog, but no other entry point was found (see To confirm with product).

Save or close

ActionEffect
ConfirmSaves the profile (if the first name is valid), applies the theme, and if the language changed, reloads the interface with the new language.
Close (X)Closes without saving form fields. An already uploaded photo remains saved.
Help (?)Opens contextual help for this dialog.

If the first name is empty or too short, Confirm focuses the first-name field and does not save.

Footer — Confirm

What this dialog does not do

  • Change password: from My Account (dedicated entry), not in this dialog.
  • Change email address: field is locked.
  • Edit a member’s role or permissions: View and edit a member's access dialog.
  • Invite a member: Add a member dialog.
  • Connect Google / Microsoft or manage work schedule: My Account page, outside this dialog.

In-app help

In the dialog header, the help icon opens contextual help. Help title: Help - Edit a user.

To confirm with product

  • Entry point for another user: the dialog supports editing / archiving others, but only My Account (yourself) opens this dialog today. Confirm whether a path from Members / Workspace exists or should exist.
  • Remove user permission vs “Archive” label: the button says Archive User; permission lists sometimes show Archive a user. Confirm unified product wording.
  • First-name length: the interface indicates a minimum of 3 characters, but Confirm only rejects fewer than 2 characters. Confirm the business rule.
  • Effect of “Lock ticket edits on mobile”: only the label is present in the interface; detailed behavior (which screens, read-only, etc.) is not documented here.
  • Consequences of archiving: visibility in Members, billing, access, etc. — to document on the product side.
  • Theme / language on confirm: theme (and possibly session language) is applied to the signed-in account after Confirm. Validate if editing another profile becomes accessible.
