View and edit a member's access
This dialog shows a workspace member’s details and, depending on your rights, lets you change their role or permissions, then save, or remove them from the workspace.

Prerequisites
- You must be signed in to Sequentia.
- You need access to the Workspace page.
- The target member must appear in the Members list for this workspace.
- To edit the role or permissions: you need permission to edit user permissions.
- To remove another member: you need permission to remove a user. The button does not appear on your own card.
- Owner exception: if you are the workspace owner, you can edit your own role. A non-owner member cannot edit their own role (lock message).
Open the dialog
- Open the Workspace page.
- In the Members section, click the member’s row.
- The See the workspace access dialog opens.

Anyone who can see the Members list can open this dialog to view the card. Role controls and the Remove button only appear if you have the matching permissions.
Member card contents
At the top of the dialog, a card shows:
| Field | Display |
|---|---|
| Photo | Member avatar |
| Name | Display name |
| Title | Profile title (if set) |
| Clickable link to send an email | |
| Phone | Shown only if set; clickable link to call |
These fields are read-only: this dialog does not edit the user profile (name, email, etc.).

Role and permissions
If you have permission to edit user permissions, the Select permissions section appears (except for the self-edit restriction below).
- Note: User permissions give access to certain application features.
- List of workspace roles, plus the Custom option.
- Preset role: permissions are read-only; a message tells you to use Manage roles or Custom to change them.
- Manage roles chip: opens the workspace roles manager.
- Custom: lets you tick permissions one by one.
On load, the role shown is the one already stored for the member (or derived from their permissions). If no permissions are stored, the interface starts on Custom with an empty list.

Restriction: editing your own role
If you open your own card and you are not the workspace owner:
- the role editor is hidden;
- a lock message says you cannot edit your own role (current role name, or Custom).
The workspace owner can edit their own role from this dialog.

Remove a member
The Remove button (red) appears when:
- you have permission to remove a user, and
- the member shown is not you.
On click, a confirmation appears:
- Title: Remove [name] from [workspace]?
- Message: This member will no longer have access to the workspace and will be removed from all boards
- Buttons: Cancel / Remove
If removal succeeds, the dialog closes. If the action is refused (e.g. insufficient rights), an error message may appear.

Removing the workspace owner from this dialog is not a complete flow: a new owner must be designated, which is not requested here. In practice, removing the owner fails (see To confirm with product).
Save or close
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Confirm | Saves the selected role / permissions for this member, then closes the dialog |
| Close (X) | Closes without applying role changes made in this session (except changes already saved via Manage roles) |
| Help (?) | Opens contextual help for this dialog |
The Confirm button stays visible even when the role section is hidden (view-only or self-edit restriction).

What this dialog does not do
- Invite a new member: Invitations section / Add a member dialog.
- Edit the profile (name, photo, email, phone): managed elsewhere on the user account.
- Leave the workspace yourself: Remove does not appear on your own card.
- Transfer workspace ownership: not handled here.
- Assign boards to the member: not offered here (unlike the invitation flow).
In-app help
In the dialog header, the help icon opens contextual help. Help title: Help - Member access.
To confirm with product
- Without permission to edit user permissions, Confirm remains clickable and rewrites the member’s already stored permissions. Confirm whether the button should be hidden or disabled in view-only mode.
- Attempting to remove the owner: the action fails without a new owner, but the interface still shows Remove if you can remove users. Confirm the desired flow (hide the button, ask for a successor, etc.).
- English dialog title See the workspace access — confirm the final product wording.
- After Confirm or Remove, the parent page may trigger a second workspace save. Confirm whether a single save is enough.
