Suppliers page

The Suppliers page lists active suppliers for the selected workspace. You can search, sort by name or contact, create a new supplier, or open a profile to view or edit it.

info

This help covers the supplier list. Creating and editing open in a separate dialog.

Suppliers page — list

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in to Sequentia.
  • A workspace must be selected.
  • The Inventory module must be enabled on the workspace — otherwise the menu item is hidden.
  • Your plan must include the Inventory feature — otherwise access may be refused based on the workspace billing status.
note

Unlike the Clients page, you can open the suppliers list even without permission to manage them. That permission only controls adding and editing.

ElementCondition
Suppliers menuInventory module enabled + Inventory feature included in the plan
Add a supplier row / empty statePermission to manage suppliers
Search bar / columnsShown when there is at least one active supplier
Archive / restorePermission to archive a supplier — from the profile dialog (not from the list)

Open the page

  1. Open the navigation menu.
  2. Under Inventory, click Suppliers.
  3. From a supplier picker used elsewhere in the app, Manage Suppliers can also take you here.

While active suppliers load for the first time, a loading screen is shown.

Active suppliers list

Only non-archived suppliers are shown. By default, the list is sorted by Name (ascending).

  • The search bar is visible whenever there is at least one active supplier.
  • The filter ignores accents, case, and punctuation, and searches:
    • company name;
    • each contact’s first + last name;
    • each contact’s email;
    • each contact’s phone.
  • If there are no matches, the filtered list can be empty (the Add a supplier row may still be visible).

Supplier search

Sort

Click the Name or Contact header:

  • first click on a new column → ascending order;
  • click the same column again → reverse order (up / down arrow).

Contact sort compares first and last names of all contacts, joined by commas.

Columns shown

For each supplier:

ElementDisplay
NameCompany name
Contact (medium screens and up)Up to 3 contacts (first + last name), then ... if there are more
Note (under contact)Up to 3 emails, then ...

On mobile, only the Name column is visible.

Suppliers list

Add a supplier

  1. Click Add a supplier — top list row or empty-state button.
  2. Without the required permission: a Insufficient roles alert explains you do not have permission.
  3. With permission: the Add a supplier dialog opens.

Main dialog fields:

FieldRequired to save
Company nameYes
AddressYes (via Add an address)
At least one contactYes (first name and email required per contact)
LogoNo
CatalogsNo (optional when saving)

Confirm button: Add a supplier. A message confirms success.

Add a supplier action

Open / edit a supplier

  1. Click a list row.
  2. The Edit a supplier dialog opens.
  3. Without permission to manage suppliers, the profile is read-only; trying to save shows Insufficient roles.
  4. With permission: Confirm saves changes.

Archive from the profile

  • The archive icon appears if you have permission to archive, the supplier already exists, and the profile is not view-only.
  • A confirmation asks you to archive or restore.
  • After archiving: the supplier disappears from the list; a message may offer to undo.
warning

The list page does not show an Archived view. Archiving is done from the profile. See To confirm with product.

Empty state

When there is no active supplier:

  • a welcome message explains what suppliers are for;
  • title Suppliers;
  • text: suppliers are the companies you buy products from; you can add their product catalogs to make inventory counts and purchase orders easier;
  • Add a supplier button (if you have permission).

Empty state — no suppliers

What this page does not do

  • Show or manage archived suppliers (no Archives segment on this page).
  • Permanently delete a supplier (the available action is archive).
  • Edit profile details (address, contacts, logo, catalogs) outside the dialog.
  • Pick a supplier for a purchase order or item: that happens via pickers elsewhere in the app.
  • Show a dedicated “no results” message after a search with no matches.

In-app help

On the Suppliers page, the header help menu opens this topic. Help title: Help - Suppliers. The FAQ covers adding a supplier and managing the list (search, contacts).

To confirm with product

  • Missing Archives view: confirm whether an Active / Archived segment is planned (like Clients / Inventories).
  • Restore: confirm how to restore an archived supplier, since the list only shows active ones.
  • FAQ vs screen: the FAQ sometimes says the address is optional and mentions “deletion”; the form requires an address, and the available action is archive. Align the help text.
  • Required catalogs: confirm whether at least one catalog should be required when saving.
  • Contact header: the “Contact” label is not translated. Confirm whether it should be.
  • Search with no results: confirm whether a dedicated message is needed.
  • Read-only access: confirm whether viewing the list without manage permission is the intended behavior.
