Quotes

The Quotes page lists offers for the selected workspace. You can search them, filter by status, create one, open a quote, edit it, send it to the client, then track its progress through to archiving.

Quotes page — active list

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in to Sequentia.
  • A workspace must be selected.
  • The Billing module must be enabled on the workspace.
  • You need permission to manage quotes: without it, the Quotes menu item is hidden and access to the page is blocked.

Open the page

  1. In the menu, open the Billing section.
  2. Click Quotes.

While quotes load for the first time, a loading screen is shown.

Page title: Quotes. Non-archived quotes are sorted by number descending.

  • Search bar: Search quotes.
  • Filter (accent-insensitive, case-insensitive) on client name, linked document, and number.
  • Matching text is highlighted in the list.

Filter by status

  1. Click the Status chip in the list header.
  2. Pick a status: Draft, Sent, Rejected, Accepted, Expired, or Cancelled.
  3. To clear the filter, click the close (X) icon at the bottom of the menu.

With no filter, the chip shows Status.

On small screens, the issue date is not shown in the compact row.

Pagination

  • Initial display: 15 rows (after filters).
  • Then +10 on scroll.
  • Infinite scroll is active only when there is at least one active quote.

No results / empty state

  • Search or status matches nothing: No quote found.
  • No active quotes: Quotes welcome card with intro text and Create Quote. Segments (including Archives) are not shown.

Create a quote

On the Quotes segment (or from the empty state):

  1. Click Create Quote.
  2. In the Create Quote dialog, fill in:
    • Client (required) — pick from the client list;
    • Work Name (required);
    • Description (optional);
    • Start date (defaults to today);
    • Delivery date (defaults to +30 days, required).
  3. Click Create (disabled until client, name, and delivery date are set).

The quote is created as Draft, the create dialog closes, the quote detail opens, and the row appears at the top of the list.

Archives

Archives segment:

  • Red title Archived quotes.
  • Same search, status filter, columns, and row click to open.
  • No Create Quote row.
  • Reachable only when the list is already displayed (at least one active quote).

Open a quote

Click a row: the detail opens in a dialog. Title: Quote #… (with revision if present) and a status badge.

In the dialog header: zoom, contextual help (document help), and close.

Document content

The detail shows the document as it will be viewed / sent.

Presentation page (optional)

  • Introduction text (editable in edit mode).
  • Can be hidden (eye icon); in edit mode, Include presentation page brings it back.
  • Reset Presentation and Default description buttons in edit mode.
  • Logo (billing settings, otherwise workspace logo).
  • Document label: Quote, Estimate, Budget Evaluation, or Estimation (editable in edit mode via a list).
  • Number and date.
  • Workspace and client details.
  • Client contact details (hideable in edit mode via the eye icon).

Body

  • Work name and description (text editor in edit mode; Reset Work Document Description button).
  • Tasks table: name, duration, rate, price, subtotal. Columns and table can be hidden. In edit mode: add, edit (click), remove/restore, reorder. Dedicated help: Add a task.
  • Items table: name, quantity, unit price, price, optional groups. Columns and table can be hidden. In edit mode: add (from inventory or manually), group, reorder, remove/restore.
  • Before taxes / taxes / Total (CAD). In edit mode: adjust the subtotal, add or remove taxes.
  • Thank you note and Term and Conditions (resettable in edit mode). Tax numbers may appear under the terms.

Available actions depend on status (detail sidebar, outside edit mode).

If you archive the latest quote that is still a draft, a confirmation offers Archive or Delete (permanent).

Actions by status

Edit a quote

  1. Draft status only: click Edit.
  2. Change the document (texts, client, tasks, items, taxes, label, language FR / EN).
  3. Under Items Management: Reorder tasks, Reorder items, Group items.
  4. Click Save, or Cancel to discard.

Finish reorganization or grouping before saving or canceling; otherwise a message asks you to finish first.

Leaving with unsaved changes shows a warning.

Send a quote

From a Draft quote:

  1. Click Send.
  2. In the Send dialog: recipient, copies (Cc), Send me a copy, subject and message (prefilled, editable).
  3. Review the email Preview.
  4. Click Send.

Status becomes Sent. The recipient gets a link to view the quote.

You can also Mark as Sent without sending an email.

Billing settings

On the list page, the settings icon opens billing settings: document logo, taxes, default quote texts and options (presentation, terms, thanks, label, default hide presentation or taxes, and so on).

In-app help

  • List page: header help menu — title Help - Client Quotes.
  • Open detail: help icon in the dialog header (document help).

To confirm with product

  • With no active quotes, the empty state hides the Archives segment even if archives exist. Confirm whether archives should remain reachable.
  • Infinite scroll depends on the number of active quotes, including on the Archives segment.
  • Exact label for the manage-quotes permission in the roles manager.
  • Amount column = pre-tax subtotal; confirm whether the label should say so.
  • Expired status: no dedicated action in the tools sidebar — confirm the expected flow.
  • Older “from work document” flow still mentioned in outdated in-app FAQ; current create flow is standalone. Confirm whether a work-document-linked path should return.
  • The Create Quote dialog has no dedicated contextual help.
