Inventories page

The Inventories page lists inventories for the selected workspace. You can switch between Inventories and Archives, search by name, create a new inventory, open the edit dialog, or enter an inventory to manage its items.

info

This help covers the inventory list. Creating and editing open in a separate dialog. Item details are viewed from the stock page of the chosen inventory.

Inventories page — Inventories segment

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in to Sequentia.
  • A workspace must be selected.
  • The Inventory module must be enabled on the workspace — otherwise the menu item is hidden.
  • Your plan must include the Inventory feature — otherwise access may be refused based on the workspace billing status.
ElementCondition
Inventories menuInventory module enabled + Inventory feature included in the plan
Inventories / Archives segmentsVisible once at least one active inventory exists (see Empty state)
Add inventory cardInventories segment only
Successful creationPermission to manage inventories
Archive / restorePermission to archive an inventory — from the profile dialog, not from the list

Open the page

  1. Open the navigation menu.
  2. In the Inventory group, click Inventories.
  3. Or open the Inventories page directly from an internal link.

While active inventories load, a loading screen replaces the content.

Segments

Inventories

Segment label: Inventories. Page title: My inventories.

Shows non-archived inventories for the workspace, sorted by name. The workspace primary inventory appears first, then the rest alphabetically.

Archives

Label: Archives. Title: Archived inventories.

The first time you open this segment, archived inventories load. No Add inventory card. Archived cards show an Archived badge.

Inventories / Archives segments

  • Placeholder: Search inventory.
  • Case-insensitive filter on inventory name only.
  • The search term is not cleared automatically when you change segments.
  • No dedicated “no results” message: the grid may show only the add card (Inventories) or be empty (Archives).

Search inventories

Inventory cards

Each card shows:

ElementDisplay
ImageInventory image if set, otherwise an empty area
TitleName (search term highlighted)
BadgeArchived when the inventory is archived
LocationFormatted address, or location name when there is no address
CountNumber of items in the inventory
PencilOpens the profile dialog (add / edit)

Open an inventory

Clicking the card opens the inventory stock page (item management — outside the scope of this page). An archived inventory opens read-only.

Edit the record

  1. Click the pencil icon (without opening the stock page).
  2. The Add inventory / Edit inventory dialog opens.
  3. Main fields: Name (required, min. 2 characters to confirm), Description, Location, Storage locations, Primary inventory, Image.
  4. For an archived inventory, the dialog opens read-only; you can still Restore (or Archive when active) from the footer, subject to permission to archive an inventory.

Archive and restore are not offered as buttons on the list cards: they go through this dialog.

Inventory card and pencil action

Add an inventory

On the Inventories segment:

  1. Click the Add inventory card (or the empty-state button).
  2. Without permission to manage inventories: alert Insufficient permissions / “You do not have the necessary permissions to add an inventory”.
  3. With permission: the create dialog opens; Confirm saves the inventory and shows a success message.

Add inventory action

Empty state

The welcome card appears when:

  • Inventories segment: no active inventory.
  • Archives segment: no active inventory and (empty archived list or archives not yet loaded).

Displayed content:

  • title Inventory;
  • copy oriented toward adding items to an inventory;
  • button Add item — which actually opens inventory creation (see To confirm with product).

A second More help button is present but disabled.

Inventories empty state

What this page does not do

  • Manage items (add, quantities, labels, transfer, physical count): inventory stock page.
  • Archive / restore directly from a list card.
  • Show purchase orders, receptions, or suppliers: other Inventory menu entries.
  • Fully document every field and rule of the profile dialog (storage locations, primary inventory, image, work-document related messages).

In-app help

On the Inventories page, the header help menu opens this topic. Help title: Help - Inventories. The FAQ covers what an inventory is, how to add one, and how to edit or organize inventories.

To confirm with product

  • The empty state shows title Inventory and button Add item while the action creates an inventory. Confirm the intended copy (e.g. Inventories / Create inventory).
  • The edit pencil stays visible on archived cards. Confirm whether it should be hidden for archived inventories.
  • Editing a profile does not seem to require permission to manage inventories (unlike creation). Confirm whether editing should be restricted.
  • On Archives, if active inventories still exist but there are no archives, the grid may be empty with no No archived inventories message. Confirm whether a dedicated empty state is needed.
  • Search only matches name (not description or location) and is not accent-insensitive. Confirm the search scope.
  • Archive actions on list cards seem planned but are absent from the interface. Confirm whether they should appear.
  • In the profile dialog, the title shows Add inventory whenever the profile is not read-only, including when editing an active inventory. Confirm the expected create vs edit titles.
