Search tickets
This dialog lets you find a ticket in the workspace: search bar (title, description, or number), combinable filters, browse results, and optionally switch to archived tickets.
The same dialog is also used to pick a ticket from other screens (calendar, chatroom, work document, etc.).

Prerequisites
- Signed in to Sequentia with a workspace member account (not guest, not anonymous).
- A workspace must be selected.
- Access to the relevant boards: search only covers boards you are allowed to use.
| Element | Condition |
|---|---|
| Search button in header | Hidden for guests and anonymous users |
| Search archived tickets toggle | Permission to archive a ticket and opened from header |
| Equipment filter | Maintenance module enabled on workspace |
Open the dialog
From the header (general search)
- In the top app toolbar, click the magnifying glass icon (tooltip Search).
- The Search tickets dialog opens full size.
- The search field receives focus automatically.
From this entry, the toggle for archived tickets is offered (if you have permission).

From other screens (ticket selection)
The same dialog can open in selection mode (clicking a result returns it to the calling screen instead of opening the profile):
| Context | Typical use |
|---|---|
| Chatroom | Link a ticket to a message |
| Calendar | Link a ticket to an event (may be limited to one board) |
| Work document | Pick a ticket for a task line |
| Other business flows | Pick a ticket in a form |
If a board is imposed by the calling screen, the title shows Search tickets - [board name] and results are limited to that board.
Dialog content
Header
- Title: Search tickets (optionally followed by board name).
- Help (?) icon: opens this help.
- Close (X) icon: closes the dialog.
Archived tickets
When available:
- Toggle Search archived tickets.
- Once enabled, a red banner reads: You are viewing archived tickets.
- Search and initial list then cover archived tickets / boards you can access.

Search bar
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Placeholder | Search tickets by title, description or number |
| Minimum | 3 characters to run a text-only search |
| Error message | Please enter at least 3 characters |
| Delay | Search runs after a short pause in typing (~0.5 s) |
| Clear | Clear button on the search bar (when focused) |
With no active criteria, the dialog first shows an initial list of recent tickets (about 20), which you can scroll to load more.
As soon as text (long enough) or a filter is active, results come from server search (up to about 50 tickets).

Combinable filters
Below the bar, text: you can also add combinable search filters.
| Filter | Default label | Behavior |
|---|---|---|
| Equipment | Equipment | Visible if maintenance module is active. Opens equipment picker. Bordered chip once chosen; X to remove. |
| User | User | Filters on assigned person. Shows name / avatar once chosen; X to remove. |
| Date | Date | Date picker (day only). See “To confirm with product”. |
| Tags | Tags | Opens ticket tag list; one tag at a time. X to remove. |
Filters combine with text search (and with each other). You do not need 3 characters if a filter (equipment, user, tag, date, or imposed board) is already active.

Results
- While loading: waiting screen.
- No tickets: NO RESULTS message.
- Otherwise: list of ticket cards (number, priority, title, date, etc.). Search term may be highlighted in number / title.
Click a result
| Mode | Effect |
|---|---|
| Search from header | Opens ticket profile |
| Selection | Returns ticket to calling screen and closes dialog |
| Multi-select | Checkboxes + Confirm button at bottom (and reset button) |
Infinite scroll loads more tickets only for the initial list (no active search).

What this dialog does not do
- Create a ticket: see Create a ticket.
- Edit ticket content: see Ticket profile.
- Search outside boards you can access.
- Show the header search button for a guest or anonymous user.
In-app help
In the dialog header, the help icon opens help for Search tickets.
To confirm with product
- Date filter is shown and triggers search in the UI, but the date is not applied to server results or local filter. Confirm product intent (filter by creation date, due date, etc.) or remove the control until implemented.
- Search with only a date (no text or other filter) may produce no reliable results because date is not yet a recognized criterion.
- Multi-select mode (checkboxes + Confirm) exists; no obvious user flow activates it currently. Confirm if still planned.
- In selection mode from some screens (documents, task lines), some tickets may be excluded; document exact screens if product wants them mentioned explicitly.
