Add an automation

This dialog is used to create or edit a board automation: a name, a trigger, conditions, then one or more actions applied automatically to tickets.

info

This dialog opens from board settings (create or edit), not from the favorite tickets page.

Add an automation dialog

Prerequisites

  • Signed in to Sequentia with a workspace selected.
  • Open a board (or create a new board).
  • Permission to edit a board to access board settings from an existing board (Board settings button).
  • Board must not be archived: on an archived board, adding, editing, and deleting automations is disabled in settings.

Open the dialog

  1. On a board, open board settings (gear icon, tooltip Board settings), or create a new board.
  2. In the Automations section, read: “Automations let you trigger actions based on predefined conditions.”
  3. Click Add an automation.

To edit an existing automation: click its row in the list (same dialog, prefilled).

note

In this dialog, the automation is first added locally on the board being edited. It is saved permanently only after you confirm board settings (create or edit board).

Dialog content

  • Title shown: Add an automation (also when editing — see To confirm with product).
  • Help (?) icon: opens help for this dialog.
  • Close (X) icon: closes without validating the automation (with alert if unsaved action edits remain).

Dialog footer — Confirm

Enable or disable

In this dialog, the automation is created enabled by default.

The switch to enable / disable is in the automations list in board settings, not in the add dialog.

Only enabled automations run.

What this dialog does not do

  • Permanently save the board: you must still confirm board settings.
  • Create an automation from the Favorite tickets page.
  • Offer Priority / Board triggers in the selector.
  • Enable conditions other than status, or Procedure / Location actions (grayed options).

In-app help

In the dialog header, the help icon opens help for Add an automation.

To confirm with product

  • Title stays Add an automation even when editing an existing automation. Confirm whether an “Edit…” label is needed.
  • Missing field alert header is not translated to English. Confirm expected translation.
  • Several condition and action fields are visible but disabled: confirm product roadmap (planned activation or remove from UI).
  • Assignment trigger is selectable; it runs on assignee change in the ticket profile. Confirm expected behavior for all assignment entry points.
  • In board settings, section title is Automations while help text sometimes says automates. Confirm label harmonization.
  • Work document option in conditions is disabled; confirm label alignment if the field is enabled later.
