Boards page

The Boards page lists the boards you can access in the selected workspace. A board groups your tickets, their statuses, and their views (list, columns, calendar, and more).

info

This help covers the boards list. Creating or editing a board opens a separate dialog. Working inside a board has its own help.

Boards page — list view

Prerequisites

  • You must be signed in to Sequentia.
  • A workspace must be selected.
  • Only non-archived boards you can access are shown.
ElementCondition
Archives segmentPermission to archive a board — otherwise the segment is hidden
Template Library buttonPermission to manage board templates — otherwise the button is hidden
Create or edit a boardPermission to create a board — without it: Insufficient roles alert / “You do not have the necessary rights to create a board”, then the dialog closes
note

The edit pencil and Add a Board row stay visible even without permission to create a board. The check runs when the dialog opens, not on the list itself.

Open the page

  1. Open the navigation menu.
  2. Under Boards, click Boards.
  3. The page shows the app header, then the list (or empty state).

The selected view (Boards / Archives) is remembered in your browser and restored on the next visit.

Boards menu access

Boards view (active)

Boards segment.

  • Search bar (placeholder Board) visible whenever there is at least one board in the current view.
  • Filters on name and description (case insensitive).
  • The search term is cleared when you switch segments (Boards ↔ Archives).

Sort

DateCreation dateScreens ≥ 768 px wide
  • First click on a column: ascending sort on that field.
  • Click the same column again: reverse order (up / down arrow).
  • Default sort on open: name, ascending.

Add a board row

Below the list header (active view only):

  1. Click Add a Board.
  2. The add dialog opens (title Add a Board).
  3. Without the required permission: the insufficient-roles alert appears and the dialog closes.
  4. With permission, the dialog may then offer a template (unless you already came from the library).

Same action from the empty state: Create a Board button on the welcome card.

Add a Board row

Open, edit, favorite

For each active board:

ActionBehavior
Click the rowOpens the board
Pencil iconOpens the edit dialog (without leaving the list)
Star iconAdds or removes the board from your favorites — filled star = already favorited

Row display:

  • Thumbnail (board image or default illustration).
  • Name (highlighted if searching).
  • Description if set and width ≥ 576 px.
  • Creation date (medium date format) if width ≥ 768 px.

Actions on a board row

Template library

If you can manage board templates:

  1. Click Template Library.
  2. A full-screen dialog lists workspace templates and public templates (search available).
  3. When you pick a template, Sequentia prepares a board from it, then opens the add dialog already prefilled (without asking to import a template again).

Template library

Empty state

With no active boards: Boards card with welcome text and Create a Board button (same flow as Add a Board).

Archives view

Archives segment (only if you can archive a board).

  • Loads up to 50 archived boards you can access, sorted by creation date (newest first).
  • While loading: loading screen.
  • Red title Archived boards above the list.
  • Thumbnail replaced by an archive icon.
  • No Add row, no favorite star.
  • Empty state: Archived boards card with no action button.

Restore a board

  1. Click the archived board row, or the green refresh icon.
  2. Restore board alert: “Are you sure you want to restore board {name}? All its archived tickets will also be restored.”
  3. Cancel or Restore.
  4. On success: the board is unarchived; archived tickets on that board and related ticket-creation shortcuts are also restored; message “Board {name} restored successfully”.
  5. On failure: “Error restoring board”.

Restore an archived board

What this page does not do

  • Configure a board in detail (statuses, views, access, automations, public settings): add / edit dialog, outside this help page.
  • Work on tickets in a board: open the board itself.
  • Archive a board: done from the board edit dialog (archive permission), not from this list.
  • Show the ticket count per board: not shown in the list currently (see To confirm with product).

In-app help

On the Boards page (list, no board open), the header help menu opens this topic. Help title: Help - Boards.

tip

As soon as you open a board, help switches to the tickets context (working in the board), not this list page.

To confirm with product

  • The permission checked when opening the dialog (create and edit) is create a board, while a separate edit a board permission exists elsewhere. Confirm whether editing from the list should require edit permission instead of create permission.
  • The add button stays visible without create permission (block only in the dialog). Confirm whether it should be hidden, like Archives / Template Library.
  • A ticket count is calculated but never shown in the list. Confirm whether it should appear.
  • Success message on creation: confirm wording consistency (fixed French vs translation).
  • Restore: 50 archived boards loaded limit. Confirm whether pagination or a “show more” message is needed.
  • Different add labels: Add a Board (list) vs Create a Board (empty state). Confirm harmonization.
